L. Alex Sharp, M.S., Former Professional Athlete
L. Alex Sharp aka "The Sharp Shooter" is a former professional basketball player who has played in several countries all over the world, such as United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and South America. Prior to that, he was named an All-American at Clarion University.
Currently "Sharp" (as his friends call him) holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology. He routinely provides lectures on various behavioral strategies such as anger management, coping skills, stress reduction and effective decision making. For over 20 years, Sharp has worked with at-risk youth in the city of Philadelphia.
Rising Stars is an initiative created by Sharp to provide exposure, education and sports programs for aspiring student-athletes. Over the years, he has worked closely with the Philadelphia 76ers, former NBA players, as well as colleges and Universities to bring education and awareness to young people in his hometown. Sharp is also the cousin of Mikal Bridges of the Phoenix Suns.
